My Very First Halloween Tablescape!

My Very First Halloween Tablescape!

Hey guys! I was so excited when Chloe from Celebrate and Decorate invited me to take part in a Halloween Tablescapes blog hop!

As the title says, this is my very first Halloween tablescape!

My Very First Halloween Tablescape!

Before we really get into it, let’s play a game! This game is called Find The Cat Toy in the picture above. I was going to edit it out, but then I thought it’d be fun to have people try to find it. It’s not hard to find at all, but I still managed to miss it before I started taking pictures. That’s life when you have 11 cats that have 10,000 cat toys.

My Very First Halloween Tablescape!

Since this was my first Halloween tablescape, I got a little picture happy so I’m not going to comment on each picture or we’ll be here all day.

When I started planning this tablescape, I wanted to do a black and white color scheme, but I didn’t have any glasses or silverware to match. Instead of freaking out like I normally do and go buy black glasses and silverware that I’d probably never use again, I decided to incorporate silver into the color scheme in order to incorporate the glasses and silverware I already have.

The Mason jars have solar powered fairy lights inside. They are designed to only light up at night, so I covered the tops of them with black paper so they would light up during the day.

I hope you enjoyed my very first Halloween tablescape as much as I enjoyed creating it! Make sure to check out all the other gorgeous Halloween tablescapes on the blog hop! It’s going on all week with new tablescapes added every day!

This is so sweet and charming for being a Halloween tablescape. I love it. It makes something as creepy as bats and spiders so delightfully pretty when dressed up with beautiful lace. Your all white dining room is so lovely and is the perfect design for creating any themed tablescape. Beautiful and at Halloween…..beautiful and frightful at the same time.

Michelle, great job on your first tablescape! I love that you’ve incorporated everyday pieces into your table – that, to me, is essential! I also fell madly in love with your scale with the perched on top – what a versatile accent. At this time of year, the bird looks like a sinister crow, keeping watch over your table. Beautiful job – so fun hopping with you!

Your choice of black and white is very spooky and perfect for your farmhouse style! I love the big black crow overseeing it all, what did your cats think of that? I never did see any cat toy, but there have been many times that I took pictures that were missing something, like forks! I love the flurry of little black bats and the spider web jars on candle sticks. Great job Michelle, so glad to have you hopping with us 🙂

Thanks so much Jenna! My cats have not noticed my crow (yet!) 🙂 LOL I’ve done tablescapes where I was missing stuff too – sometimes it’s just so hard to remember all the little details when putting a tablescape together. So happy to be hopping with you too!

Welcome to the blog hop! Your table setting is great! I love that you kept it just a black and white theme, with the exception of the cat toy – which I found! And I love the vintage scales you used as centerpiece. Good job!

Michelle you did a great job with your first halloween tablescape in black and white. The elements you chose are a great mix right down to the crow on the scale. I love your silver pumpkins which do exactly as you wanted which was to tie in the glassware and flatware. A job well done and thank you for blog hopping with us. 🙂

Michelle, I love the black, white and silver color scheme for Halloween. It fits so lovely with your other decor but adds an element of spooky fun. And I feel ya on the toys! We only have 1 dog but I always manage to leave a toy in a pic!

Love your spooky and elegant black and white table, perfect for Halloween! Your scale makes a handsome and stunning centerpiece with the crow perched on top! I did notice the cat toy, but only because you pointed it out, otherwise I probably would have missed it 🙂 Fun blog hopping with you this week!

The silver accents are perfect and gives everything a little bling…I think it’s much better than the black you’d originally planned. And I love the mason jar candles. It definitely has a farmhouse Halloween vibe!

Michelle, I adore black and white combinations all year long. Along with the neutral palate of your decor, the tablescape is an absolute home run! I liked your comment about freaking out when glasses, flatware don’t match — sounded awfully familiar! I actually searched but couldn’t find black glasses I liked to splurge on and ended up with Dollar Tree! Love your jar lights and how clever adding the black paper so they’d light up. And the tiny bats on the the white table really caught my eye. Exceptional!

Thank you so much Debbee! I think every decor blogger can relate to freaking out about not having the “right” stuff in their decor at one time or another. I’m trying to get past that and just always use what I have on hand, but the Dollar Tree is always a great alternative 🙂

It’s stunning Michelle! I love how you decided not to go buy new things and used what you had. I think the silver was a perfect addition! I am trying so hard to not run out and buy things for these hops and tours, and it seems like when I use restraint and use what I have it all comes together. That is how I ended up coming up with the theme for this year’s Halloween tablescape. I rounded up what black transfeware dishes I already had even though they didn’t match and went from there. Thanks for letting me know I am not the only one who takes a thousand photos only to miss the sock under the table or something!

I hope you will link up over at the Hauntingly Beautiful Decor link party!
Happy Halloween! p.s. Look for a shout on on my facebook!

I love the black scales with the raven ~ “Nevermore”! Great centerpiece. The lace gives a decadent feel to the tablescape. Reminds me of Miss Haversham. My English literature background is popping up. The black, white and silver is a great combo for Halloween.
