A Mercury Glass Holiday Tablescape

Hey friends! Today I’m sharing my Holiday tablescape for 2018. I’m doing a mercury glass theme throughout my home for the holiday season this year. I have to admit it – I love shiny things and I have a slight obsession with mercury glass!

My Holiday tablescape is part of the Christmas Tablescape Blog Hop hosted by Chloe at Celebrate & Decorate!

I’m joining 20+ other super-talented bloggers to bring you a beautiful and eclectic mix of Christmas tablescapes to inspire your best holiday tablescape ever! It’s going on all week with a few new tablescapes added each day. You can check out all the tablescapes through the links at the end of the post!

Now on to my holiday tablescape!

It all started when I found these awesome mercury glass Christmas trees at Hobby Lobby. I wasn’t planning on doing a mercury glass themed tablescape this year, but when I saw these Christmas trees, I knew they’d make the perfect centerpiece.

I’ve collected mercury glass ornaments over the years, but I’ve never noticed any other types of Christmas decorations made out of mercury glass until this year – they’re all over the place!

I buy all of my mercury glass ornaments on Amazon. They have the best prices I’ve found so far (excluding sales).

I used some of my mercury glass ornaments in my tablescape centerpiece to complement the trees. I also used pine cones that I spray painted silver in the centerpiece and on top of my plates.

The silver star and bead garland is also from Hobby Lobby.

The greenery is a fresh cedar garland that I got from Lowe’s. Some of my blogger friends get their fresh garland from Costco, but they don’t seem to carry it here in our area.

Yay for white plates! I love Christmas themed plates, but I haven’t found any at flea markets as of yet. Holiday themed plates is just something I can’t bring myself to spend big money on at the stores when I’m only going to bring them out once a year. But I’m going to watch the sales after Christmas this year!

Aren’t those crochet napkins the bomb? I got them on Amazon too. What would we do without Hobby Lobby and Amazon (besides saving a lot of money)? 😉

I decorated my hutch with more cedar garland and flameless candles.

Pine cone soup anyone? 🙂

I recently painted my chandelier, and I really like how it looks decorated up with cedar garland and mercury glass ornaments.

I made up a vintage wine bottle display on my wine bar. I love the wine cork fairy lights! They sure beat the heck out of having to cut into the wine bottle to put the lights in.

That’s it for me! Please be sure to check out all the tablescapes in the blog hop through the links below!

Michelle, this is so pretty! Leyland cypress is the way to go for decorating with greens. They’re not messy (sappy) like pine, and they lay so nicely. The pinecones, little lights, all white china – very, very nice. And the hutch is styled beautifully. Merry Christmas to you and your family!

I love all of the fresh greenery and the natural look with all of the pine cones. Your table looks like a picture perfect country Christmas straight out of a magazine. Who needs Christmas plates when you let nature do all of the work. How in the heck did you find 6 perfect pine cones all the same size, that sit so straight?!?! This is a beautiful table! Thanks for joining the hop!

Thank you so much Ann! Your comment about the pine cones got me laughing! I use pine cones a LOT in my Christmas decorating and I have two storage bins full of them. I dug through the bins for a good 15 minutes trying to match up 6 that were the same size and stood up halfway straight to use in the dishes. If they didn’t set up perfectly straight, I’d pull some of the scales off of the bottoms until they would sit up straight. So happy to be hopping with you!

thawYou prove that setting a beautiful Christmas table does not require themed plates! Those trees are gorgeous and I can understand why once you spotted those you knew how you would style your table. Thank you so much for joining another hop and Merry Christmas!

    Very very nice! <3

    Ciao, Fior

I bet the greenery smells wonderful and it’s just perfect with this table and your hutch. Early in the season, I say the Mercury glass trees and now I wish I had bought them. And, yes those napkins are the bomb. Merry Christmas!

Michelle, I love it all! Mercury glass is so pretty and I have collected only mercury glass candle holders. Those trees are quite a find. They are stunning. Your hutch is gorgeous all decked out in green and silver too! Spraying the pine cones silver was a great idea. I am with you when it comes to purchasing seasonal plates and have always gotten lucky at flea markets or auctions, but certainly don’t want to buy new every year. I find classic white is the best way to go!

Do you have cedar trees or do you buy it? Thank you for sharing such a beautiful Christmas home! Merry Christmas to you and yours!

Thanks so much Tiffany! I got the garland from Lowe’s. My in-laws have cedar trees up at their place so next year I’m going to get some and try my hand at making my own garland. Thanks for stopping by and Merry Christmas to you and yours too!
