Farmhouse Friday 148

Farmhouse Friday Link Party

Hey guys! I hope you are healthy and dealing well with staying at home and social distancing.

I didn’t post anything new on the blog this week to focus on some much-needed spring cleaning and organizing around our home. We were so busy in the last quarter of last year with my mother-in-law’s passing, work, and hosting Christmas. We’ve been able to make some progress here.

On another note, I’m making a major change to the blog and a couple of minor changes to the link party. I’ll talk about with the link party changes first.

Starting next Friday, I’m closing the party on Mondays at noon PST instead of 9 am on Tuesdays because I want to start varying the number of features I choose every week. When I started the party, I selected three features each week; later on, I moved it up to four. But I’ve found having a set amount of features for each week doesn’t always work well. Some weeks there are so many great linkups it’s next to impossible to whittle it down to just four features. On other weeks if I have a theme in mind for features that week (such as an upcoming holiday), sometimes it’s hard to get four linkups to fit in that theme. I want to have more time to visit each blog that linked up and comment on the posts they shared. I always do try to visit the blogs that link up each week, but I want to make it more of a habit, and making comments when I visit will help me do that. I can’t promise I’ll do it every week, but I will try my best! 🙂 It’s the least I can do for you guys because I appreciate every single one of you taking the time to link up with me and making this link party the fun and inspirational party that it is! ❤️

Now for the major change. 🙂 The blog focus will still primarily be about farmhouse style DIY projects and decor inspiration. But I’ve decided I want to expand a bit to include life on a hobby farm and stuff that’s happening in the world when I feel my perspective might be of help to someone. For example, my friend Julie over at Redhead Can Decorate is putting together a Pandemic Family Resource Guide. Julie rounded up a bunch of her blogger buddies to put together a resource guide which will include frugal or simple ingredient recipes, cleaning/disinfecting tips, family games and crafts, and other things to help families deal with this crisis. Usually, I wouldn’t join in something like this because it didn’t fit into the scope of my blog. But since I’ve been thinking about expanding my blog focus anyway, this seemed like the perfect opportunity to do so. The resource guide will go live here tomorrow at 9 am PST. I hope you’ll stop back by and check it out! 🙂

I also want to share stuff about my day to day life on a hobby farm, which will include gardening, farm critters, pets, and the occasional recipe. There’s a lot more to living on a hobby farm than just home decor, and more times than not I’d find I couldn’t get anything up on the blog because I was so busy taking care of other stuff on the farm. I’m hoping that expanding the focus will help me with posting more consistently.

I’m not changing Farmhouse Friday’s focus; it will still be farmhouse style DIY projects and decor inspiration.

What do you think? Do you think you’ll enjoy the expanded focus? I hope so! 🙂

This Week’s Features:

Farmer’s Market Inspired Spring Foyer by French Creek Farmhouse

bunch of twine carrots in a basket

DIY Twine Carrots by DIY Vibes

Early Spring Home Tour by Follow The Yellow Brick Home

Spring nest made with a paper bag and embellished with moss, twigs, and lichen.

DIY Shredded Paper Nest by Sweet Pea

mini topiary table setting

Pretty Table Setting for Spring on the Porch by Lora B.

Link Party Rules:

The party rules are super simple! Link up your favorite farmhouse style DIY projects or indoor/outdoor decor inspiration. You don’t have to live in a farmhouse or have farmhouse style as one of the main themes of your blog – as long as the project or decor would work in a farmhouse style home, it will work here 🙂 No food or recipes, please.

I don’t require you to link back to this party, but if you do, I appreciate it! I also don’t require you to visit or comment on other blogger’s linkups, but it’s always a nice way to share the bloggy love! By linking up, you will get a chance to be featured here at next week’s party and across my social media. If you pin anything from the party, please pin it from the original source.

By linking up to this party, you permit me to share your posts and pictures via social media and as features, roundups, etc. with a link back to your post or a link back to this party on the week your post was featured.

You are invited to the Inlinkz link party!

Thanks so much for stopping by and and have a great weekend!

You’re very welcome Pamela! I agree change is growth and it’s so important to listen to your own heart sometimes. I might lose some followers, but it isn’t about that for me anyway. Thanks for being a part of what makes this party special!

Looking forward to seeing the changes…..I find it funny how just a few months ago, Bloggers were debating the value of still having link parties where now, I find that the link parties are what most Bloggers are looking to as a way to connect with others and see what other Bloggers are doing during this time…Thanks so much for hosting and providing us with a source where we can find great distractions along with so many other things!
    Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
    Hugs,

I love the idea of seeing more of what you do around your farm! One of my favorite things you have shared is your almond trees in bloom. I share a lot of gardening themed and cleaning posts in addition to home decor and crafts, and I find that I really enjoy those posts and it keeps ne from getting burned out on so much decorating. Life is more than home decor! Of course I love the decorating posts you share too.

Thanks for hosting and for the feature!

You’re very welcome Amber! 🙂 And I agree about getting burned out on decorating… so many times I put aside things I should be taking care of or something non-decor related I really enjoy because I feel pressured to decorate “for the blog.” It will be so nice to spread my wings a bit and share some other projects. Thanks so much for sharing all your gorgeous linkups each week and being part of what makes this party rock!!!
