This is a quick-and-easy egg crochet pattern to whip up a bunch of eggs when you need Easter or Spring Solstice decorations in a hurry. Once I got the pattern down, they took me less than five minutes each. You can work them up in one color or several. They are great stash busters! And I really like that they have a “yolk.” 🙂

Stitch around yolk: Change color if desired. tie on; sl st in each sp around yolk Cut yarn, tie off, and weave in ends. Here’s the step-by-step breakdown. The pictures show the pattern being worked from left to right because I am left handed. This pattern is symmetrical, so it can be worked either left to right or right to left and achieve the same results.
ch 5; j r with sl st to form a loop.
Round 1: ch 3; dc 8 in loop; j r with sl st and round 2: 2 sc in first s; loosely sc in each st; j r with sl st
Halfway through round 3… ch 1; 2 sc in same st, 3 sc each in next 2 sts, 1 hdc, 2 dc in next st, 1 dc, 2 trc in next st
The other half of round 3… 2 trc, 1 dc in next st, 2 dc, 1 hdc in next st, 3 sc each in next 3 sts, j r with sl st
Stitching around the yolk: tie on; sl st in each sp around yolk. Grab the yarn on the wrong side of the egg through to the right side…
… and then pull through the loop on the right side, working all the way around the yolk.
All done! Purty if I do say so myself.
So is this a great pattern or did I get egg on my face? Let me know! 🙂

NOT, definitely NOT, tired of your “easiest” posts!! Keep them comin’!!
LOL thanks Connie! Glad there’s at least one person out there that isn’t sick of them yet! 🙂
lovely pattern. Would make nice necklace pendants OR 2 together to make a coin purse.
Thanks for the pattern.
Thanks Jenny! 🙂 I love the coin purse idea- very creative! I was thinking about crocheting two together and stuffing it for a 3-D egg.
This is so cool! Saw it on Facebook. My kids are older, love the Easter egg hunt, but don’t like hard boiled eggs! Going to make a bunch of these for hiding…
Awesome! Have fun! 🙂
Just made a couple, so simple and adorable! Love the simplicity, plus very low in cholesterol, lol!
These are easy and fun. Thank goodness there are great pictures that help those of us that are left handed. Thanks!
I agree with Connie. I always got for the quick items you post. Have got a box full of ‘5 minute’ crochet things I have made, ‘just for the fun of it’ One day I will think of something to do with them all. Maybe give them to a local primary school for the littles to do things with.
Thanks Christine! I love quick crochet items – instant satisfaction! 🙂
Neat way to decorate an Easter Egg Tree! My daughters gave me a pre-lite tree for Christmas; small enough for an apartment. I can keep it up all year and decorate it seasonally. Will need to experiment making smaller sizes.
Thank you Sarah! I’m happy this will help you get your tree all decorated up for Easter!
