Hey all!
After the popularity of my Cute Little Heart Free Crochet Pattern I’ve received a lot of requests for the pattern in different sizes. I decided to do the heart crochet pattern in three different sizes!
These hearts measure 3, 4, and 5 1/2 inches respectively at their widest width. They are so cute and easy to make- you can make a ton of them for Valentine’s Day!
If you would like visuals on some of the stitches and how the pattern basically goes together, check out the original Cute Little Heart Free Crochet Pattern post.

I would like video, directions are great but I’m a Lil lost with the very end an I think I’m doing something wrong!!
Michelle says
Hi Valerie! I don’t do crochet videos because I crochet left-handed, and since most everyone is right-handed it think it would cause more confusion than anything. Can you tell me where you’re getting stuck and I’ll try to help?

Hi Michelle,
Can your easy heart be made in a cotton,? Should i double it ? Hook is a 3.50 but this is a small hook and Iโm struggling trying to keep a grip on the yarn probably as itโs a cotton ,Iโm wanting to do it for a keyring ,itโs a lovely pattern so thankyou ,Jan wynder
Michelle says
Hi Jan, you can use any yarn you want for the pattern. If you’re having problems keeping the yarn on the hook, try using a thinner weight yarn like sock weight. I hope that helps! ๐

Thank you for allowing me to use this pattern xx

Hi Michelle. Happy Thank you for this crochet heart. I hope you’ll have a video too.
Michelle says
You’re very welcome Maria! Unfortunately I can’t do crochet videos becasue I crochet left handed, and since most everyone is right handed it tends to confuse people more than it helps.

Hello Michelle,
What an incredible site. Your crochet is amazing and your photography is wonderful.
The only problem is that I do NOT crochet or knit. I’ve tried so many times to no avail.
Michelle says
Hi Marsha! I tried several times too before I got the hang of it. The trick is to just keep working at it until you get it. When I finally stuck with it, I would knit/crochet stuff that was not great looking, but as I kept at it I got better and better. There may be some inexpensive or free classes offered in your area at your local library or craft stores. Also check out YouTube for some beginner tutotials. I hope that helps! ๐

I made smaller than the small one. I switched trc for dc, dc for hdc and so on. I also looks great. I started with a magic ring. I looks perfect. Thanks for posting.
Jennifer says
Hi Michelle,
This is great! I agree, this is the best and easiest heart pattern out there. Well done! And thank you for putting the patterns for 3 sizes.
I used these patterns to make various different hearts (mixed and matched using different yarns x different sizes). It’s a great way to test out yarn, since you know you’re working off the same pattern, but of course the finished product will vary based on the yarn.
I recently started a blog and this project was actually the first article I wrote. I hope you don’t mind! (I did link back to your page so my readers would be able to see the actual pattern followed on your article). My friend and I are planning on attaching a small note to each heart and hang them around down. Our little way of spreading love :). Also, the very first one I created was for my daughter so she could attach this to her backpack. It’s the yarn version of a “kissing hand” ๐

An urgent request yesterday for crochet hearts to send out with lock down food parcels in Feb. Your lovely pattern was just what I needed to create quickly but still look attractive. Thanks! ๐
Ellie says
Hiya! Thanks for the great pattern. I was wondering if this could be modified to make even bigger hearts? Do you have any suggestions for how I could do that? Thanks!
Michelle says
Hi Ellie! Try adding more increases with each row that are evenly spaced out and play around with it until you get it how you want. If the heart starts pulling inward, rip the row and add more increases; if the heart starts getting wavy, rip the row and decrease the number of increases. I hope that helps!
april herrell says
is there a way to keep going and make the heart into a blanket
Michelle says
Hi April! I am sure there is a way, but I’ve never tried to do it so I’m not able to tell you how. I’m sure if you Google something like “heart shaped blanket crochet pattern” you’ll find a pattern for it. Good luck!
Amy says
Michelle – I’m launching a yarn-bombing project here in Pittsburgh, and our first project will be making these hearts at a community event. I would love to credit you and your pattern on our Facebook page if that is okay with you — Love Binds Pittsburgh.
Michelle says
Hi Amy! Yes and I love that you want to use my pattern for this! If you post some of the hearts made on Facebook and Instagram please feel free to tag me there too. Thank you!
Angela says
Thanks so much….made the small heart pattern…so easy to follow and understand.
Michelle says
You’re welcome Angela! I’m happy you enjoyed the pattern!
Jennifer says
Michelle, I, too, wand to continue to a bigger size for a dishcloth. Surely a formula could be worked out based on these three increased sized. But my brain won’t do it. I bet you could, though. I’d be ever so grateful!
Nancy says
I love working with the pattern and I think it should be named the easiest heart pattern ever. I have made all 3 pattens and have made 2 at a time and stuffed them a little with the same color yarn I made them with. They are so cute. BTW I tried several other patterns and they were just confusing, I was so happy when I found this pattern. Very easy to follow. I don’t usually leave comments but I had to for this pattern.
