DIY Drawer Pull Magnets

DIY Drawer Pull Magnets

Hey friends! Welcome to this month’s edition of the Thrifty Style Team blog hop! Each month I get together with the talented ladies below to bring you thrifty decor ideas and inspiration!

Redhead Can Decorate | 2 Bees in a Pod | At the Picket Fence | Bliss Ranch | Chatfield Court | Cottage at the Crossroads | The How-To Home | DIY Beautify | Duke Manor Farm | I Should be Mopping the Floor | Salvage Sister and Mister | The Painted Hinge | What Meegan Makes
My project for this month is a simple one. I’m hoping that despite it’s simplicity, you’ll love it and think of it as a “why didn’t I think of that?”type of project.
DIY Drawer Pull Magnets
All you need to do this project are drawer pulls, hot glue gun, hot glue and strong magnets. I’m including my recommendations on what products will work best for this project. Please keep in mind that not magnets are created equal, and you will need strong, good quality magnets to hold the weight of heavier drawer pulls. The same goes for the hot glue.

Apply a bit of hot glue to one side of the magnet…

… and attach the drawer pull. Allow the glue to dry thoroughly before use.

Some of the drawer pulls I used had a big enough bottom surface to cover the magnet; others, not so much. I recommend using drawer pulls that have a wide, flat bottom surface as this is going to hold up better over time.

These are obviously great to use as refrigerator magnets, but they can also be used on any metal decor to add a little extra pop! They’re also great to display greeting cards, postcards, photos, seasonal decor, etc… the possibilities are endless!

I got these awesome metal trays at Decor Steals. They are sold as a set of three and these are the larger two trays in the set.

I used some vintage postcards and pictures that belonged to my grandparents to display on the trays. We still live on the farm where the postcard was sent (the address format is different now than it was back then) and where many of the pictures were taken. Makes me nostalgic for sure!

What a great idea. I am so going to use this for a project that I have coming up. I have a bunch of extra family pictures that I am going to take to a family reunion that I have coming up in about a month. I was trying to figure out the best way to display them so my relatives could pick out any that they wanted and take them. I love the idea of the drawer pull magnets because they are easy to take off. Thank you so much for sharing at To Grandma’s House we go and congratulations on the feature.
