A Winter Hutch with a Christmas Village in a Tiered Tray

A Winter Hutch with a Christmas Village in a Tiered Tray

Hey friends! I know that’s a super long title but I couldn’t come up with anything else that sounded good.

I painted this hutch a few weeks ago and haven’t had a chance to put the before and after on the blog yet. But I wanted to share with you all how I decorated it for Christmas.

A Winter Hutch with a Christmas Village in a Tiered Tray

This hutch is in our family room filling up one wall that I struggled with decorating for what seems like forever! I was so happy when I found this hutch as it is perfect for the space.

Even though it’s a hutch, I wanted to do something different than to fill it with “hutch stuff” and then decorate said stuff for Christmas.

Since I just painted it, I hadn’t added any decor yet so it was a fresh canvas to work with.

I decided to decorate it with some mercury glass decorations I bought last year, with a few new additions this year from Amazon 🙂 (See the shopping list below!)

I used to really struggle with filling tiered trays, but then I learned the secret: use stuff that comes in a set! For example: for Christmas you can use a Christmas village like I did here. You could also use a nativity scene, a ornament set, a cookie cutter set, etc. Search for “Christmas set” on Amazon (or click HERE and I’ll do it for you) and see all the possibilities!

I’m including the Amazon links below for this Christmas village and everything else I used to decorate my hutch.

Some of the links in this post are Amazon affiliate links. If you make a purchase through one of these links, I may make a small commission at no additional cost to you. If you do purchase through one of my links, thank you so much for helping keep my blog content free for everyone to enjoy!

I hope you enjoyed my Winter hutch with a Christmas village in a tiered tray! If you have any questions or comments, please feel free to leave them in the comments section below!

What color paint and paint company did you use for your hutch?
    Love the color,

Hi Cathy! Thank you so much! 🙂 The color is Linen White by Rust-oleum Chalked paint. I did two coats of paint, then used their antiquing glaze and then their clear glaze to seal it. I plan on posting a tutorial on how I painted it early next year so stay tuned! 🙂

Hi Maryann! I bought it on Amazon years ago so I don’t know if they still carry it.

Thanks. I found one but the price was ridiculous. I did find a rectangular off white tray. Thanks for all the great ideas

Love the Mark Feldstein & Associates Winter Village Led Tea Light 31 Piece Porcelain Tabletop Christmas Figurine Boxed Set. Can’t seem to find it though. All sold out everywhere. Have any ideas where I can find one? Thank you

Hi Vivian! The only places I’ve seen these are at Amazon and Ikea. Keep checking back as I’m sure they will get them back in stock as we get closer to the holidays.

Hi Maryann! I’m sorry I didn’t get back to you sooner; I’ve been battling some big health issues lately. I bought this on Amazon years ago but I don’t know if they still carry it. I hope they do and you can get one for yourself!

I like the picture with the summer look. The American flags look great. Would love to see pictures of it decorated for every season.
