Embrace Your Style 159

Hey guys! I hope you had a happy and healthy week!

Our week was not so healthy. On Tuesday my husband Dan tested positive for COVID-19. Last weekend he developed symptoms that are typically associated with the virus – coughing, fever, headache and body aches. I took him to a local testing site on Sunday and he got the positive test results on Tuesday. Yesterday I developed a fever, congestion and a headache, so I’m assuming that I have it now as well.

Dan is a general contractor and is working subcontracting for company that is remodeling an old high school into a middle school. When COVID-19 hit here in California, the powers that be considered any construction work on schools to be essential work. We think that he got the virus from someone either from his company or one of the other subcontractors working there.

The good news is that our symptoms have been relatively mild so far. Dan stopped coughing after the first couple of days of being sick and as of now his main symptoms are fever and body aches. I coughed a little bit at first too, but as of now my main symptoms are fever, head congestion and runny nose.

Although our symptoms are mild, we are not taking any chances. We know that this virus can start off mild and come on strong after a week or two, so we are taking it seriously by resting and taking care of ourselves to give our immune systems the best chance to fight it off.

Please don’t worry about us! We are in our early 50’s, in good health and don’t have any preexisting conditions that make us high risk, so our chances of recovery are very good. I debated sharing about this at all as I didn’t want anyone to worry, but since I won’t be doing a lot on the blog for at least the next couple of weeks I thought it best to share the reason why. In the meantime, I will keep this party running as long as I’m well enough to do it. So please keep sharing all your beautiful DIY projects and decor inspiration here so I can live vicariously through them until I am fully recovered 🙂

    Dear Michelle,
My goodness, first your shoulder incident and now covid! May God heal you both quickly and get back to normal. Thank God you had the energy to write your blog, not that you needed to for us, but happy you felt well enough to do it. Always grateful for the wonderful photos and stories from yourself and others. Get well soon!

Thank you so much Laura! Although this virus isn’t anything to fool around with, I think there is a lot of unnecessary panic about it because the media only focuses on the people who get really sick or die from it. People need to take it seriously but also realize if they don’t have any health issues that make them high risk, there chances of recovery is very good as long as they take care of themselves. I hope by sharing my experience it will help put people more at ease about it. I hope you have a wonderful week!
