Farmhouse Friday 207

Hey guys! I hope you had an awesome week!

This week was another week of un-productivity for me. Although my perimenopause symptoms have eased for the most part, since last Sunday I’ve been experiencing severe pain in my hips and legs to the point where I can barely walk even after taking over-the-counter painkillers. I didn’t hurt or overly exert myself beforehand so I had no idea why I was in so much pain all of a sudden. After doing some research I now suspect it is a recent change in my statin (cholesterol) medication that is the culprit as muscle pain (especially leg pain) is a common side effect of statins. I am going to quit taking it for a few days to see if the pain subsides.

I want to note that I don’t talk about my health issues here to get attention or sympathy (but I do appreciate all the well wishes from everyone ❤️). Although my health issues are annoying and often keep me from posting as often as I’d like, they are not serious and I am very thankful for that. There are so many people dealing with severe and life-threatening health issues and I know mine are nothing in comparison. I only mention my health issues when they prevent me from posting as you guys deserve to know the reasons why when I can’t post as often as I’d like.

Having recently dealt with some health issues, I completely understand. It can be very frustrating not being able to do the things you normally do. Take care of yourself!

    Michelle,
The same thing happened to be when they changed the statin I had been taking for years to another one because they felt they got better results with the new one. I could not get out of bed and could barely function at work!! Then , as a nurse, I realized what was going on and promptly stopped it, called the Dr. and was put back on the one I had been taking…..Same thing happened to my son but he experienced right sided abdominal pain. Went away as soon as he was put back on his old medication….I hope you are feeling better now!!
Thanks for hosting each week!! I appreciate the work that it takes to host this wonderful party!!! Stay safe, healthy and happy!!
    Hugs,
    Debbie

Thanks so much for sharing that info Debbie. I’ve been off the statin for almost a week and I’m still sore (although it is a bit better) so I’m not sure if it was statin, but I can’t rule it out yet either. I’m starting to think I just strained it really bad without knowing it because that seems to happen a lot now that I’m older 🙄 I hope you’re having a great week!

Hope you begin to feel better! Medications can be the cause of so much discomfort sometimes. Wishing you a wonderful week ahead!
