Patriotic Centerpiece using Thrifted Finds

Today I took part in the Thrifty Style Team, which is a group of talented ladies who get together once a month to bring you thrifty DIY projects and decor inspiration that won’t break the bank! Thrifty Style Team is hosted by my awesome and talented friend Julie at Redhead Can Decorate!

This month I’m sharing a patriotic centerpiece using thrifted finds!

I thrifted everything you see in the centerpiece besides the flowers and flags.

I love all things stoneware, and when I saw this stoneware pitcher at a local flea market I couldn’t pass it up!

The centerpiece “tray” is the top of an old wine barrel I found in my grandfather’s barn when it was still standing. The wood piece sticking up on the left side of the tray is the cork.

Patriotic Centerpiece using Thrifted Finds

I’ve thrifted Mason glass jars from several places so I don’t remember where I got this one, but it was either at a flea market, yard sale, antique shop, or found on my grandparent’s property.

I found the rooster weather vane several years ago on clearance at Hobby Lobby. Clearance items at Hobby Lobby counts as thrifting in my book!

My favorite of all the thrifted finds in my centerpiece are these vintage thread bobbins I bought on Facebook Marketplace. Facebook Marketplace is an often overlooked place to find great deals on antique and vintage finds. Check out my 5 tips for thrifting on Facebook Marketplace and you’ll be scoring some awesome thrifty finds there in no time!

That’s it for my patriotic centerpiece using thrifted finds! Here’s the this month’s entire lineup of great thrifty patriotic DIY projects and decor inspiration from all the talented ladies of the Thrifty Style Team!

Your family’s barn sounds like somewhere I would have loved to dig around in, too! Your vintage finds are great, and that rooster just tops off the whole farmhouse look; so cute!

Such a cute centerpiece. Did those vintage thread bobbins already come like that or did you paint them? I WANT SOME! I always forget about the marketplace. I think it’s because I can scroll and scroll and only see crap. Would totally love seeing this as I walk through the room. Love it all. Pinned 🙂

Thank you so much Cindy! The thread bobbins came just like you see them! There were like 30 bobbins in the lot in a variety of sizes and colors (some unpainted) and some even had thread on them still! Try searching in the antique/collectible section of FB Marketplace (see my tips!) in order to filter out all the crap 😁

The fact that the wine barrel lid is from your grandfather’s barn is so special and makes this piece even better. Lovely vignette, Michelle! xoxo
