Hey friend! I hope you had a wonderful week!
I’m happy to report that Cindy’s son Will is home from the hospital and staying with Cindy and her family while he recovers. He still has a long road to full recovery, but he is doing much better.
As for me… I might need to take some time off from blogging. I’m still really struggling with my health. I’m trying a low histamine diet as a lot of the issues with people who have a long haul reaction to the covid vaccine is inflammation. Eating low histamine foods for a while had helped over people who were injured from the vax until they worked it all out of their system. Unfortunately it usually takes 4-6 months to see any real improvement, and I’m at 10 weeks tomorrow from my second shot. It sucks because on the low histamine diet isn’t a lot that I can eat. But at this point I’m desperate and I’ll do anything if it helps me get better. After starting the diet yesterday, I slept a LOT better and longer (7 hours instead of 2-3), no histamine attack in the middle of the night, and my blood pressure is going down, so I’m hopeful. I’m going to do the diet for a few days and see if I improve. If not, I will take some time off from blogging. Even setting up Farmhouse Friday every week is a huge struggle for me right now, and if I’m not better by next week I think it’s best if I stepped back from the blog to focus on healing.
I’m really sorry about all of this. I understand that people visit decor blogs to be uplifted and get inspiration and not to get bummed out about someone going through a health crisis. I hope that you understand that I had no control over the vaccine affecting me the way it did and how long it’s taking me to get better. I just hope I turn a corner soon.

I also reacted to the vaccine (I react to everything) and also and found that diet and an antihistamine such as Claritin has helped. For sleep issues, a product like time release melatonin works wonders; it’s natural and non-addictive. I hope you’re feeling better soon!
Michelle says
Thanks so much for the suggestions Sara! I’ve been doing a low histamine diet and antihistamines as well as melatonin at night. The extreme anxiety and fatigue have been relentless so I’m pretty much bedridden. I hope you’re faring better with it than I am!

Michelle, you and your health come first. We have to individually realize that. Blogging is great, but our health and families are a priority. We understand and pray for you. The vaccine is something health-wise we all have to consider. I have learned that I’m allergic to the emulsifier/surfactant used in them as the “vehicle” for the vaccine. I’m the one allergic to MiraLax and many other injectables. For most people its not an issue, but for some of us it’s can cause severe repercussions like anaphylaxis. So I understand exactly where you are coming from. Hopefully the knowledge about the histamine diet will help and start to clear out some of your health issues. I’m praying you’re steadily improving, but we want you well and functioning. Thankyou for updating us on Cindy’s son. I’m so glad he’s doing better. Whichever way you decide we understand. Sending a big hug. Deb

Michelle – I am so sorry to hear about your issues with the vaccine. I will add my voice to the chorus singing – you are what is important. I love your blog and the beauty you create, but you are the author of all this and taking care of yourself and fully healing is Priority #1. In October of last year, I had gone through 3 surgeries for breast cancer, and was about to start Radiation Therapy. Also on the list of immediate future events was spine surgery, retirement, selling our home and moving 2000 miles across country. My husband recommended that I write a post indicating my little blog was on hold until I got through the “list of events”. (I am a much smaller blogger than you! Astonishingly, I still picked up a few new followers!! ) We are waiting to move into our new house here in NE Indiana (we moved from San Diego) and I am so excited to start blogging when that happens. Back to you though, please do drop everything you can to focus on yourself. Letting us know ahead of time that this is coming should give you the peace of mind that we are all behind you, and will be thrilled when you come back healthy and strong.
Michelle says
Thanks so much for reaching out with your kind words and insight Kristine ❤️ I will drop everything if I absolutely have to but right now I’m trying to hold on to the one thing that makes me life feel halfway normal, and that’s blogging. You have been through a whole heck of a lot and I’m happy to see that you made it through and thriving! Thanks so much again and big hugs!
